Excerpt CHAPTER ONE
The will of God is the desire of God. It is that decided upon desire of God. It is the purpose of God. Every one has his desires, but there are those desires upon or about which he has made a decision. In other words he has set out to achieve them. He has mapped out plans and is investing resources to ensure he achieves his purpose. The will of God is that desire of God upon or about which God has made a decision, set out plans to achieve it and is investing resources to see that He achieves His purpose. The will of God is what God wants. Wanting something is different from being purposed about it. Someone may want to be rich but never attains it, not necessarily because he does not know how but because he never decided to be rich. Another may want to go to heaven but never gets there because he never ended up making a decision concerning it. Just like men, families, groups, organizations and nations ought to be purpose-driven God is a purpose-driven God. He has His plans and purposes for the universe He created, including mankind – you and me.
Every maker or creator has a purpose in mind for his creation. He actually has the moral and legal right to determine and insist on the purpose of his creation as long he maintains authorship rights to that creation. God has the moral and legal right to determine and insist on the purpose of all His creation and it is His will that all He created align themselves with His purpose and will. That means He maintains a right to punish, destroy or stop the functioning of that creation if it is no more going according to His will, as He had firmly decided. The will of God is God’s yardstick for judging our activities here on earth – how much we lived in accordance with it and how much we did not. Come to think of it. Wouldn’t God be foolish to create the universe and have nothing in mind to achieve? Or do you think He was just bored and was looking for something to do? That He will invest all that resources for something unserious? That He would set up a kingdom and have no plans on how to deal with those who disobey? That He would command obedience for obedience sake, without something definite, a bigger picture in mind? Well, only the fool says in his heart there is no God. |

About the book Responding in faith to the teachings of this book will attract the blessings of God into your life. God wants to bring His salvation to all mankind that have not yet come into the sheep pen and He intends to do that through those already in. He wants to bless His people like never before that they may show forth His glory. But this He cannot do if His people are not submitted to do His will. No business man employs someone and commits money into his hands so that the employee can go and do whatever he the employee likes. No sane government empowers its workers without a clear-cut vision of what to achieve. God is not willing to commit resources and suffer loss, especially at this time. Hence the call to submit to His will and have our light so shine that men may see it and glorify our Father in heaven. God needs all men to understand His heart concerning them and what He desires for them. Many years ago after a lot of mistakes in ministry I asked God to teach me a couple of things, first of which was His will. God was more than eager to do that. Hence the book was born. I had a desire to please God and do just what He would have me do. From my experience even as a Christian I realized that much of the confusion many people face today can be linked to only one thing, lack of understanding of the will of God for their lives. Many have sought ways to deal with this confusion. Some have immersed themselves in whatever their hands have found to do, some in relationships, some in a kind of lifestyle, some in doing what the society or the majority or they themselves consider okay, but the truth is the confusion never really goes, the questions still remain, until a man can for sure know and identify with the will of God for him to fulfill it. The purpose of this book is to help men discover the will of God for their lives while explaining what the will of God really is. The Will of God is a book written to help men respond to the call of God to fulfill the will of God for their lives. It explains what the will of God is, the different kinds of the will of God and what exactly God requires of us. It is the author’s firm belief that this book is capable of launching you into the perfect will of God for your life. |
